I feel sad... so sad, when I see how this world is going because of humankind...

We are torturing and extinguish the animals

We are drying up the earth resources such as petrol

We are destroying the forests and with them our oxigen

We are polluting the air, land, seas, lakes, rivers, mountains ... everything.

We are altering the climate balance

We are destroying nature

We are the cause of the ozone hole

We are killing slowly our wonderful world... our home... our heaven

...directly and indirectly

...and with it all the life in it, including ourselves.

Why, despite the evidences of this tragic situation, most of the humankind seems to not care about it.

I wonder how long yet this planet can last, if we all do not do anything to save it.

Before leaving the plane I put on my jacket and went out.
As soon as I stepped out the door of the plane a freezing wind passed through my bones and my soul. Yes because I always felt the cold as a discomfort but this one was like an embrace, I do not know how to explain better but I can tell you that it struck me so much and infact the title of this blog is about that wind.

Went <strike>dawn</strike> down the stairs and headed for the terminal walking through the empty and windy outside of the airport. Of course there were other people and soon, without knowing how, I was talking with an english girl of about my age, which was shivering like me.
She was talking about to put her feet in warm water but in those moments I did not remembered the meaning of the word "warm" so I struggled to understand that part. I was just so excited to be there.

Once inside the terminal I looked to take my baggage and after a short wait it appeared on the conveyor belts. If you are wondering the girl was already vanished.
Anyway passed the gate and went for the outside but first I changed my Euro in Pounds at the ATM.

Outside the Airport there was a taxidriver waiting for customers and infact he asked me if I wanted a ride but I knew there was a coach rather cheap just a few steps from there on the side of the road which I could see it clearly from the distance. A taxi was out of question since it would have cost me a lot so I politely told him that I would have taken instead the coach. He responded kindly, I appreciated his behaviour. Oh and by the way, I struggled to understand him! A fast paced and incomprehensible way to speak, at least for me at that time.

The coach was waiting there for everyone to come out the airport. I asked to the driver if that was the one for buchanan station but I mispronounced the word "buchanan" and he replied something like "no this is for Buchanan" and I said "yes!" so I paid ten pounds and took the ticket, then he told me they had to wait some more time before the departure. Suddenly I understood of what he was talking about. While making a call during the wait, it began to rain so I went inside the coach and sat down.
There were some Italians too. We had some chat and after a short time we departed.
We traveled through the A77 but it was rather dark and it was hard to distinguish anything out of the road range. It was odd for me to stay on the left side of the road and it was my first time.

Once we arrived in the city of Glasgow at the Buchanan station it was quite late, I think about one o'clock, or so. Everyone took their own way, many of them left with a taxi, the famous black cabs of London, but I knew that my hotel ,where I previously booked a room for that night, was not so far, so I walked until there.

During the walk I saw a little part of the city centre but everything was dark and the streets were empty. Rarely someone passed walking and almost no car was seen around. I saw a girl walking and I thought it was a little odd to see a female all alone at that late, she was probably a student judging by her clothes and backpack; A couple of other in another street looked quite drunk but well dressed.
Anyway the city, at that late hour, at my opinion was not looking quite safe. But for me it was just exciting being there. I am not afraid of no one, though I was aware that a crazy drunk idiot with a knife could have come out of nowhere at anytime. Or at least they say so.

After some walk, I reached the street where my hotel is located and the shape of the city has changed from high buildings to more traditional houses.
Since those moments I began to love this city, with his characteristic architecture and atmosphere. I found the wet streets and the walls with these red adobe quite impressive. The city seemed alive, but was sleeping at that moment.

Once I arrived at the hotel doorstep I rang the bell and soon a man came to open me. The only thing I said was "Sorry for being so late" (it was about one and a half o'clock) and he said something like "do not worry about it". So he gave me the key room and told me the time for the morning breakfast. I had to find the room by myself since he only told me it was at second floor. I headed to the stairs and wow! A tight and twisty stair with a red carpet covering anything from stairs to walls and handrail. I guess I felt like Alice in wonderland in a tiny but cute house. I struggled to pick up my baggage up those stairs because of the tight space but fortunately I managed to reach the top and finally found my room which was the last door in the corridor. The most tight corridor I ever saw, surely made of wood since it creacked and crunched onto my steps and even the stairs were the same. But the fire protection system was to norm of law and the hotel was kept clean and in good conditions despite the old house structure.

My room was quite cute and comfortable and surprisingly large! Or at least compared with the rest of the hotel. The bathroom was in the corridor and it was shared but it was well kept and clean. In my room there was any kind of thing, such as a <strike>kettel</strike> kettle to make Tea and cookies! Which, later, I discovered that all hotels there have a <strike>kettel</strike> kettle to prepare Tea. Also there was a closet for clothes, a desk with drawers, a chair, a mirror with a sink, a small tv with remote control, an inviting bed, a 'huge rectangular window and ... and a mysterious door!
Ok it was just a fire escape door but since I felt like Alice in wonderland in a tiny house, that one should have been a mysterious door heading for a secret garden ahah.

Watching out the window there was a small back garden (I told you there was a secret garden! ahah) and there was a chimney pot puffing smoke constantly. The walls and the windows seen on the side of the house looked quite old and made of red adobe. Maybe for anyone else this means nothing, but for me being there in that silent night watching out the window of my room with that smoke fading in the chill air, it was such a relaxing sight and I think in that moment I realized where I was and how I felt... it was a nice sensation I would say.

After a short time I went to sleep.
1 May 2012

Once inside the airplane an hostess told me something that I did not understood, but while speaking she also indicated me, with arm gestures, something like "take a seat somewhere overthere" so I walked past the middle of the plane until i found a comfortable place where to sit just next to the window as i wished to, with a lot of space for the legs. =)
The plane was quite empty, about 70% of the seats were empty.
From outside the window i could see the wing with the huge engine attached to it, just next my seat.
The hostesses showed the emergency routine and other general information.
There was also a short italian explanation.
The important thing was to hook the safety belt and turn off cellphones.

After some time of preparation the plane started to taxi slowly in order to reach the landing line for take off.
When it took position, it started to take speed and after a run has taken off!
I was flying for the first time! =D
The plane was lifting fast and soon it was possible to admire all the city lights in the night.
Inside the airplane it seemed like a normal train on railways but watching out the window I was in the clouds! =D

After a short time, we flied inside some huge dark rainy clouds, and, in the middle of the night, the only thing i could have seen was the powerful light flashing on the wing while it reflected on a misty and cloudy sky.

Not so much later, all the clouds disappeared as we flied upon them.
The flight was relaxed and it was a beautiful sensation for me. Since I was a child, I always wondered how it could have been to fly in an airplane, so that was a special moment for me!

Sometimes i spotted some city lights and some coast but was quite hard to say what was water and what was earth. We were flying pretty high judging from the city lights.

After about an half and a hour, if i am not wrong, we started to lose speed and altitude since we were arrived at the Prestwick airport in South Ayrshire, about fifty km from Glasgow city centre.
The landing was slow but, even if i was trying to figure out when we would have landed, the moment we touched the ground was unaspected but not abrupt at all, quite soft i would say, just some little vibration.
Not so many cheers but someone was italian and so a little of claps were heard xD ahah

After the plane slowed down and parked whe started to get out, it was impossible to see anything from the window since it was late night, infact we arrived about after midnight!

I was in Scotland! =D

To be continued... brrrrrrr!

The fly was supposed to be at about 9:30 o'clock. I arrived there early for the depart of the flight, and because of that the check-in were closed. Also, since that was the first time for me, i unknowingly ignored the fact that i should have left my bag there before passing the control point to get inside the airport terminal.
So i held my bag of 14kg with me, thinking that i could have let it later.

Inside the terminal were shops and Fastfood where you could sit and eat.
While waiting, my friend, whom gave me a ride to the train station, called me asking if i had already left my bag at the check-in. My answer was that i was waiting for them to open. But i was unaware of the fact that those were not the check-in but the gate to embark on the plane!

The time passed and the gates opened quite late, and the people waiting around queued up.
Both Italian and english people were in the queue. Some were tourists, coming back or starting their trip, other were on a study trip such as teenagers, and some other on a job trip, such as me.

When finally my turn arrived, my bag was a little too big to fit within the cage to measure the weight limit so they started to check inside the bag and after some discussion between us, while people looked amazed at me like if i was a terrorist whom hiding a bomb in the bag but i was just an innocent victim, they told me that the only solution was to go outside the terminal, find the info point and pay a fine of 50 Euro for the overweight of my bag.
Since there was no other way, and i wanted to depart at any cost, i payed that price and then came back at the gate.

There was no one else left there except a couple of workers whom indicated me the way to head for the airplane. So i went out and it was night, lights were lit up on the landing line in the distance, and an empty bus took me to the airplane standing on a parking area of the airport.
Before climbing the stairs to get in, a worker picked my bag and put it inside somewhere the cargo hold.
So I climbed the stairs and entered inside the airplane.

PS: Be aware when flying with Ryanair, or your money also will fly away but not with you.
PPS: Criticism about my english are appreciated

Wild Soulhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03360154600672169660noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7308832134057074616.post-13271715503600307632013-08-13T16:50:00.000+01:002013-08-17T19:37:37.892+01:00How all beganAbout in April 2012, i was searching for a job at abroad and then i finally found a contact, in the nearby of Loch Ness, provided by an extremely friendly italian woman who lives there in Scotland and which later kindly helped me, through the whole trip.

I had many other reasons to make the choise of departing for Scotland.
PS: i will not mention about all the coincidences, unless someone requests it.

All the preparatives were made and, in less than two weeks, i was ready. I bought a Ryanair ticket from the main site and fortunally i found an affordable price by booking two weeks in advance, if i am not wrong it was 10,99 Euro plus 15,00 for the 15kg baggage in the cargo hold.

The day of the departure was getting close and i printed the ticket on an A4 page as in the instructions.

And day after day the first of may came and i was the most happy person in this world. A friend of mine took me at the train station to reach the airport.
From there my journey started. =)

The train took a couple of hours to reach the destination and during the trip i was lucky enough to meet an old married couple from America that was visiting Italy and sitting just in front of me! I took a breath and started for the first time talking with a native foreign speaker.
It was exciting but also a little difficult for me at that time.
But they had been so kind and we had a nice conversation.
They were from Seattle in the state of Washington U.S.A. and they both were english teachers! I was the luckiest man in the whole world xD ahah
The two hours conversation helped me to gain more confidence with the language.
They told me about their trips across all the U.S. with their Camper.
When the train arrived in Rome, we kindly greeted each other and so they continued their trip as tourists around Italy.

Although i live in a small town, i am a veteran of trains and crowded stations.
I traveled many times around Italy especially with trains. So i agilely found the coach to reach the airport.

Early days of 2012

After many years of being tired of non living happy and free as i wished to, i started thinking about what to do for my life and then i asked to myself questions and gave them answers.

From that time i began to pursuit my personal liberation through the developing of mind and body.
I gradually changed any aspect i did not liked about myself, and now, although i know that i still have not totally reached my goal, i am proud of who i am and no one can hurt me anymore.

After i took this decision some coincidences began to happen to me...

PS: i cannot promise you that i will talk about of all the coincidences.
